• In 1973, 10 Warren - Gularganbone farmers began a crusade to make their 35,000 Merino ewes more profitable.
• The "Olympic champion" ewes were selected each year out of each flock - 250 out of 35,000.
• The resulting stud flock of 1,100 ewes has been intensively selected ever since. 
• Commercial G.R.A.S.S. ewes now cut 8.0kg of 19.5µm wool and rear 90 to 100% lambs.
• For 30 years, no ewe has entered the stud unless she reared a lamb as a maiden.
